3 - 2 - 1 - Blast Off!!

We are very excited to be finally launching The Rockin' 70's this week. In the planning process we have dug up all kinds of goodies for our Vinyl Destination feature...rare and forgotten. We have also tweaked the website to now include up-to-the-minute rock news and links to hear the show live online every week.

Have a look and have a listen to the The Rockin' 70's...and let us know what you think!

See you on the radio.

Keeping the 70's Alive!!

As we near the inaugural broadcast of The Rockin' 70s radio show, we aim to bring you news and views on this blog pertaining to the "me" decade. Please check back often, or click the "follow" button to keep updated on this blog...

First bit of news belongs to KISS. When they had their farewell tour years ago, you thought that was it, huh?

Not so.

KISS, in it's half original form with GENE SIMMONS and PAUL STANLEY (along with Eric Singer, Tommy Thayer, and Bruce Kulick) are planning shows this year in South America and Canada so far. Could the U.S. of A. be far behind??

On March 3rd, VH-1 Classic Records will release THIN LIZZY "Still Dangerous" live cd recorded on the "Bad Reputation" tour in Philadelphia in 1977. Be listening to The Rockin' 70's and watch the website for further details...

Rock it!

Welcome!

Ok, finally it's here! Well, almost...

I'm Zander and I have been doing some sort of 80's rock radio show/feature since 1997 at the old WCKG in Chicago. In 2004 I took the show to a national audience, and the results were huge! Since then it has grown from one to two hours weekly, and counts WBGG-Miami and WQBW-Milwaukee as two of it's 42 total affiliates in North America. This has been a rewarding experience in my career, but I found myself looking for the next step. Last year after conferring with my trusted partner in crime, Danno Wolkoff at Envision Radio Networks, I decided that even though I was the "80's rock guy", that I need to share my equal passion for the hard album rock of the 70's.

The week of March 2nd will be the launch of a new two-hour radio show, simply called "The Rockin' 70's". This is for those Classic Rock and Classic Hits radio stations that dare recognize the power and attraction of hard rock in the 70's. Whether it be garage rock from KISS, straight ahead rockin' from AC/DC, something progressive like YES or RUSH, the cutting edge shred of VAN HALEN, heavy blues from LED ZEPPELIN, or the dark metal of BLACK SABBATH...the 70's did rock indeed. We'll prove it too you each week on The Rockin' 70's.

Join the party, and we'll turn it up!
